Begin with financial strength, not brand familiarity
Independent rating agencies evaluate an insurer’s ability to meet financial obligations. Ratings use different scales and are opinions rather than guarantees, so review the current rating, agency, and date.
A familiar consumer brand is not automatically a better contract. Compare the issuing company named on the policy.
Compare the policy feature by feature
For term coverage, review conversion rights, renewal provisions, term options, and available riders. For permanent coverage, separate guarantees from non-guaranteed assumptions and examine charges, surrender periods, loans, and flexibility.
The best fit is the contract that addresses the need at a sustainable cost—not the longest feature list.
Underwriting can change the ranking
Carriers may view health conditions, medications, nicotine products, family history, occupations, travel, and driving records differently. A company with attractive published rates may not be competitive for a specific profile.
Share accurate information before an agent suggests a direction. Final classification is controlled by the carrier.
Use a transparent comparison process
Ask which carriers were considered, why a recommendation fits, how the broker is compensated, and whether any meaningful alternatives were excluded.
Life Policy Finder does not publish unsupported rankings, carrier counts, or blanket claims. Availability and appointments must be verified for each state and applicant.
